Hovercraft fun - DUCT TAPE CAN FIX EVERYTHING

How many kids can say that they've made AND ridden on a hovercraft? When I heard that we were going to make a hovercraft I thought we'd be making an overly complicated craft, but it was actually really easy to make.
First we took a circle piece of plywood about four feet in diameter and drilled a hole in the center and one off to the side. The hole off to the side is where the tube from the shop vac went and the center hole is where the plastic sheeting was connected and it's where we put a rubber disk so we wouldn't destroy the floor when we run the hovercraft (which didn't help at all). We then took the plastic sheeting and cut a circle five feet in diameter so that the excess can be folded over the board and taped there. But before we taped it to the board, we cut 8 holes around the center to allow air to flow out and create a cushion of air underneath the board.
After everything was put together we put a person on a chair on the hovercraft and turned the vacuum on. We can then push the person back and fourth down the hall with ease. Tah dah!!
(I'll add a video of the hovercraft in action later)
